Day 5 A-Z Challenge

Good morning. Today is Day 5 of the A-Z Challenge. The word for the day is "endurance."  The term endure is defined as to remain firm through hardship or persecution, to undergo difficult situations without giving in.

The scripture for today is James 5:11.  Behold, we count those blessed who endured.  You have heard of the endurance of Job, and have seen the outcome of the Lord's dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

The story of Job comes to the forefront of my mind when I see the word endurance. For he endured extreme disaster. He did not cave into a life of self pity indulging in any sin that would ease his suffering. He bore it brave and was refined in his faith...His faith was greatly tested and shone forth as gold. HIs endurance was blessed by God and in the end His life was restored double-fold...

These days we cave in, but Job lost everything and he remained firm until the very end. Would we endure to the end.  We could learn a valuable lesson here. Think of the loss Job endured. We cannot make it through the day if we break a nail or have a flat tire.  Our faith will be tested  in these little minor things...What if we lost someone close to us, and then there was JOB who lost his whole family.  We have to be sober and discerning in this day and age...for Satan is sifting us and shaking our foundation...We will only stand if we are secure in Christ Jesus.  Stand strong my friends until the very end, for those who over come will receive the crown of life.

Thank you Jesus for you hold us in the palm of your hands. and though your hand slays us at times like your servant Job, we will trust you the same! Refiners Fire may our faith be tested in the fire and some forth as gold, in Jesus name I humbly pray, Amen.
