Day 6 A-Z Writing Challenge

Good morning folks!! May you be blessed by todays posting on Day 6 of my A-Z Writing Challenge.  The Word for the day is "foundation."  This word is defined as a underlying base or solid support for a firm structure, such as what most habitations are build upon...

Everyone who comes to Me, and hears my words, and acts upon them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation upon the rock; and when a flood rose, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been built well.

But the one who had heard, and has not acted accordingly, is like a  man who built a house upon the ground without any foundation; and the torrent burst against it and immediately collapsed, and the ruin of that house is great.  Luke 6:48-49

What strikes me about the above scriptures is the fact that we can hear the Word of God and act upon it. We must as a believer apply the word of God to our lives. This is not a light subject but a very sober and serious one. If we do not act upon the word then there will be no foundation for us to stand on...but what does action mean?

 I was lead to answer this questions with the scriptures because we live in a culture full of knowledge but the word 'action' is the operative word here. We can memorize the scriptures and that is a great and wonderful way to lean on the Word , but if we do not put action to our words it will not lay a very stable foundation. It all goes hand in hand.

The other  above scripture I would like to remark on is that we have to know the truth in whose we are. If we have truly been born again the great truth of the matter is that We become the children of God.  we have been rescued from the grip of the evil one. we have been delivered and redeemed by the blood of Jesus. That should become our foundational truth for our sure foudation and nothing shall take us out of our Papa's hands.

Jesus, we hold firm to this teaching in the scriptures. Help us to not only be hearers of the Word but but doers to uphold us during life raging storm. Help us to work out out salvation with fear and trembling for our God is a consuming fire. Come Holy Spirit and preserve this teaching win our hearts this day in your most holy name we pray, AMEN!
